Description

“At every level and in every role across our charity, our core mission is the same - to empower the people we support to live the Best Lives Possible.”

Community Integrated Care is one of Britain’s largest social care charities; supporting almost 3,000 people with a diverse range of care needs and employing over 6,000 committed colleagues to deliver services across England and Scotland. We have a passion for transforming lives by delivering high-quality support, encouraging independence and empowerment in everything we do.

Operating nationwide, we support people from the tip of Scotland to the South Coast of England. Despite being a large, national care provider, we maintain a strong local presence, and have a deep understanding and connection with each of the communities we serve. We take pride in our ability to get under the skin of these diverse localities, tailoring our services to align with their specific requirements.

We deliver life-enhancing support to people with a diverse range of care needs, including:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Mental Health Concerns
  • Autism
  • Complex Care Conditions

The role:

We are seeking a strategic thinker who possesses the commitment, drive and skills to make a tangible contribution to the long-term success of the organisation, for the benefit of the people and communities it supports. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will develop and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with Board Trustees and the Executive Leadership team ensuring that the charity fulfils its statutory and legislative responsibilities.

You will be an individual who has extensive experience leading large complex organisations in either an executive or non-executive capacity, where you have encouraged change and innovation, supported an inclusive and compassionate culture, and championed diversity at all levels across one or more of the following areas:

  • Health and / or Social Care practice and policy
  • Marketing, Communications and Lobbying
  • Fundraising and experience in the charity sector

Equally important will be a true connection and/or a clear empathy for the strong values, vision and purpose of the organisation, and all Trustees are expected to meet the highest standards of integrity. As a Trustee of Community Integrated Care, you will play a pivotal role alongside our Board of Trustees in shaping the future of our organisation in its mission to provide high-quality care and support services. You will be part of a highly experienced board, where you will provide collaborative leadership on strategic direction, governance oversight and financial stewardship.

With a lifelong commitment to inclusion and a passion for celebrating what makes each one of our people unique, Community Integrated Care is committed to making our charity a place where everyone feels they belong. We know that the best Boards reflect the communities they serve. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments and positively encourage applications from those with lived experience.
